1.To enable the Council to administer Halton’s element of the Liverpool City Region Leisure and Hospitality Business Support Programme
2.The programme is being launched on Thursday 15th October. This is to respond to an increasing crisis in these sectors and further delays will impact on the survival of local businesses and their ability to retain staff
The programme has been developed in a short space of time to encourage businesses in these sectors to retain staff and hold back from issuing redundancy notices. A pause or delay in launching the programme was considered, but there is still some uncertainty surrounding the type and level of support to be provided by government to these businesses
